Although this isn’t something we use everyday, it takes a bit of practice for our dogs to understand. Having a dog that heels at our side when asked, will also help our dogs get out of the habit of dragging their handlers around the neighborhood. Usually, as your dog's Attention Heeling improves, so does his loose leash casual walking skills. Learn how to use your body to help your dog turn, tricks to keep your dog's focus, and build duration of walking next to you. Learn how to teach your dog to remain calm when greeting other dogs or people. To be successful at greetings, dogs need to have a bit of impulse control. We will practice a few games to help teach this. Teaching our dogs to think before acting is another life skill that will make our dogs much easier to live with.
