About Carolyn Ross

My Dogs, My Teachers……All my life, I have been blessed to live with dogs. They have been constant friends who have provided me with countless hours of entertainment and companionship. I have had some wonderful dogs who always just seemed to understand what was needed or expected of them, and I have had dogs who have presented major challenges to living peaceably with humans and other pets. All of them have helped me to better understand what it is like for a dog living in a human culture. They have taught me patience, empathy, and humility. They have taught me to better communicate and to lead with kindness. Through their examples, I have learned to appreciate the simple things in life and to live in the present. For this, I will always be grateful.

My passion for dogs has led me to become:

  • A Professional Certified Dog Trainer
  • A Certified Tellington TTouch Practioner
  • A Certified Third Way Trainer
  • A Certified Master Wag It Games Instructor & Judge
  • A fully Certified WCRL Rally-O Judge
  • A certified Canine Fitness Coach through both the University of Tennesse (FitPaws Master Trainer program)  and Northeast K9 Conditioning Academy

My dogs and I compete in Agility, Wag It Games, Rally-FrEe, and the dance division of Cyberrally-O.

I love to do anything outdoors with my dogs. It is imperative all my dogs have solid off-leash skills because we love hiking, biking, swimming, x-county skiing, and snow-showing together.

I am also a Professional Member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, an organization whose mission is to elevate the standard of animal behavior consulting worldwide. I consistently participate in a variety of training classes of my own – always trying to improve on current skills.

Each dog is a special gift that teaches me something new. I love to learn new techniques, experiment with my dogs, and then share those techniques with friends and students.

I would love to be YOUR dog training coach too!

Jeremy Shaw

Jeremy currently lives in Buxton, ME with his four dogs, cat, and chickens. His passion for animal behavior led him to the University of Maine where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. While in college, he volunteered at the Bangor Humane Society and his passion for dogs was born.  After school he worked as a Veterinary Assistant, Surgery Assistant, and earned his grooming certification.

His love of dog training developed when an unruly and destructive lab mix entered his life, leading him to take obedience classes.  Patient and compassionate, Jerry seems to have a special affinity for bringing out the best in dogs who come to him lacking in confidence.

His love of learning about dog behavior soon brought him to competitive dog sports. He competes primarily in agility, rally, flyball, and scent work.  In 2021 he earned his CATCH (CPE Agility Trial Championship) with his Miniature American Shepherd Apollo.

He is a past president of a local dog club and trial secretary for local shows.

Jerry is currently a licensed Wag It Games Instructor and Judge for DogBall, Sniff-It, and Smart Dogs, as well as an Agility Judge for Teacup Dog Agility Association.

We are delighted to have Jerry as a member of our team!
